Job summary

Support the Logistics Manager in the delivery of the Materials Management Top Up service to all clinical areas.

Support the Logistics Manager in the delivery of the Inventory Management Solution to all applicable areas.

Maintain strong working relationships between Procurement and clinical staff including Ward Managers and Matrons.

Maintain and support the logging and circulation of Field Safety Notices and MHRA alerts.

Main duties of the job

Conduct Materials Management Top Up orders on specified areas as designated by the Logistics Manager.

Support the 'put away' service on those areas to create a closed loop function that provides an end-to-end service.

Maintain the Inventory Management Solution high value and implantable clinical consumables.

Support the expansion of the Inventory Management programme to deliver efficiencies and benchmarking opportunities as designated by the Logistics Manager.

Conduct quarterly ward reviews for all designated Materials Management areas.

Support the expansion of the Model Ward programme and adhere to Model Ward principles when providing the top up and 'put away' service.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A good level of general education English and Maths GCSE or equivalent.
  • Professional supply chain or logistics qualification or relevant experience.

Desirable

  • CIPS Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations or equivalent qualification.

Skills

Essential

  • Good interpersonal skills, good oral and written communication.
  • Data input and analysis capabilities.

Desirable

  • Ability to plan and develop own workloads to meet the strategic dimensions of the Department.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft software Power Point, Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety in a working environment

Desirable

  • Understanding of Public Contract Regulations.
  • Knowledge of GS1 standards and the Scan4Safety project

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of stock control via inventory management systems
  • Good analytical skills and mathematical orientation.
  • Customer relations dealing with diverse customer base both face to face and over the telephone.
  • Experience in a Procurement environment

  • Availability to use/develop use of common software packages i.e. Microsoft Office
  • Experience in using purchase to pay systems or catalogue ordering systems.
