In relation to this post, the post holder will provide support to the Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedics team. It will therefore ensure the service is able to continue in its pursuit to provide the best levels of care for patients accessing the service on both a trauma and elective basis. 2. OBJECTIVES OF THE POST This is a 10 PA substantive appointment for a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedics surgeon, with special interests in Paediatric Orthopaedics. This post will deliver 10PAs supporting the Paediatric Orthopaedics team (Miss Laura Deriu, Mr Patrick Foster, Mr Colin Holton, Mr John Davies, Miss Adelle Fishlock, Miss Elaine Robinson). To deliver care to patients with Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedic conditions at the Leeds General Infirmary. Outpatient clinics Acute care of paediatric patients Elective operating with pre-operative and post-operative ward rounds Supervision of patients Contribute to Specialist Multi-Disciplinary team meetings To contribute to the role of Leeds as a Training Centre for National Trainees in Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery. To provide support and clinical expertise to the teams based in referring centres. To link with Consultant colleagues in other relevant specialist teams within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals and across the region. To contribute to research, teaching and new developments within the Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedic service. The post holder will be encouraged to facilitate and contribute to the current clinical research programmes on going in the department. There is no requirement for the post holder to supervise Allied Health Professionals.
