The Opportunity

We're seeking a dedicated Graduate EAL Teaching Assistant to support newly arrived international students in our diverse secondary school community. This full-time position offers excellent preparation for those considering teacher training or PGCE programmes.

Location: Multicultural Secondary School, Bradford
Salary: Up to £560 per week
Duration: Full academic year, starting September
Hours: Full-time, long-term position

About the Role

This exceptional opportunity allows you to gain valuable classroom experience while supporting students who are new to the UK. Working closely with our Special Educational Needs Coordinator, you'll help develop both academic and pastoral outcomes for our international pupils.

The role is particularly suited to graduates with language-related degrees who are considering a career in teaching, whether in Modern Foreign Languages or Primary education. You'll receive comprehensive support and guidance, with potential opportunities for teacher training progression within the school.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• University graduate with at least a 2:1 degree (language-related degrees preferred)
• Previous experience working with children or young people
• Multilingual abilities - ideally speaking several languages
• Genuine passion for education and student development
• Approachable, caring personality with strong interpersonal skills
• Commitment to supporting vulnerable students with empathy and understanding
