We understand that there are many reasons that medical practitioners are not registered to practise medicine in the UK, these can vary from individuals who have relinquished their licence to practice some time ago to doctors who qualified in other countries and who have not yet fulfilled all the requirements for professional licence to practice in the UK. This may include refugee doctors or international medical graduates. While all such doctors have some medical knowledge, it is imperative for patient safety that they are not mistaken for registered doctors. They must not undertake any procedures or clinical work that may only be done by a registered health care professional. The Medical Support Worker role will offer people the opportunity to demonstrate foundation medical training competency.
