LOCUM CONSULTANT IN PAEDIATRIC TRAUMA & ORTHOPAEDICS This post is a locum post for a period of 6 months. BACKGROUND This is a 10 PA locum appointment for a Consultant Paediatric Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon. This post will deliver 10 PAs supporting the Paediatric Trauma & Orthopaedics team (Mr Davies, Miss Deriu, Miss Fishlock, Mr Foster, Mr Holton and Mr Sabouni). The post will be based at Leeds General Infirmary. 2. OBJECTIVES OF THE POST 2.1 To deliver care to patients with Paediatric Trauma & Orthopaedic conditions at the Leeds General Infirmary. Out-patient clinics Acute care of paediatric patients Elective operating with pre-operative & post-operative ward rounds Supervision of patients Contribute to Specialist Multi-disciplinary team meetings Contribute to the role of Leeds as a training centre for national trainees in Paediatric Trauma & Orthopaedics Provide support and clinical expertise to the teams based in referring centres 2.2 To link with consultant colleagues in other relevant site specialist teams within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals and across the region. 2.3 To work with colleagues in Paediatric Trauma & Orthopaedics to deliver acute on call (currently 1 in 6). This includes both out-of-hours cover in addition to acute ward rounds during normal working hours. 2.4 To contribute to research, teaching, and new developments within the Paediatric Trauma & Orthopaedic service. The post holder will be encouraged to facilitate and contribute to the current clinical research programs on going in the department.
