Job Title: Sports and Wellbeing Mentor
Location: BD5, Bradford
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Fixed Term (with potential for extension)
Hours: 36¼ hours per week
Salary: Band 8, SCP 17-22 (pro rata, term-time only)

About the Role

You will:

Teach PE across all year groups, including SEN provision.
Plan and deliver inclusive, engaging lessons that promote physical development and teamwork.
Lead after-school sports clubs and coordinate pupil participation in local competitions.
Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to support emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and self-esteem.
Promote positive friendships, resilience, and the school's community values.
Work closely with the SENDCo and safeguarding team.

What We're Looking For

Experience working with children in a school, sports, or youth setting.
Passion for PE, sport, and children's wellbeing.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build nurturing relationships and act as a positive role model.
Understanding of physical, emotional, and mental health needs in children.
Willingness to undertake safeguarding training and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Sports coaching or PE-related qualifications.
Experience supporting pupils with SEND or SEMH needs.
First aid qualification.
GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
Fluency in spoken English to an Intermediate Threshold Level (as per the Immigration Act 2016).
