Job Introduction

The Living Well Children and Families service supports children and families, aged 2-19 years who are identified as being above a healthy weight and their families to make small but important changes to work towards a healthier lifestyle. 

We are looking for a Service Manager to join our dedicated team in the Living Well Children and Families Service. This role is an opportunity to make a real difference in our vibrant and diverse city working across the Bradford District.

 The main responsibilities of this role:

  • Responsible for the efficient and effective functioning, management, promotion and development of the Children and Families Living Well service.
  • Managing the Living Well Children and Families team, providing leadership and operational management to delivering staff, service leads and administration staff, including identifying and implementing training requirements as necessary. 
  • To plan, develop and implement the Living Well service offer, to integrate into service's across the district, including third sector and other commercial providers.
  • To ensure a balanced programme of delivery which meets the needs of the local community and addresses health inequalities across the district. 
  • To ensure adequate safety measures are undertaken to comply with the Health and Safety at Work. To be responsible for ensuring staff are appropriately trained and emergency procedures are in place.
  • To play a full and active role in the Living Well Service Team, providing a high standard of communication within the team and with external stakeholders to ensure the service delivered is able to meet the needs of service users.
  • To be responsible for contributing to and developing and delivering on financial, service, qualitative and quantitative performance targets as defined.
  • To maximise the potential of the service to act as a catalyst for health and wellbeing, lifelong learning, skills development and community cohesion and enable delivery of defined healthy lifestyle programmes. 
  • To prepare reports and make presentations to committees, boards, internal groups and external organisations as directed.
  • To ensure that the quality systems, procedures and policies are implemented and complied with and undertake system audits as required.
