The role suits someone who is practical, hands-on, and willing to support the wider life of the centre wherever needed. The role involves various contact with staff, volunteers and members of the public who visit us or need our help.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide effective administrative support within a busy and varied environmentManage financial responsibilities, including petty cash, cash handling, paying bills, submitting required central returns, and monitoring budgetsUse Microsoft packages confidently, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Forms, and DropboxPlan, organise, and prioritise workload effectively with minimal supervisionCommunicate professionally and positively, both verbally and in writing, with colleagues, partners, and centre attendeesCarry out general administrative duties, including data input, telephone enquiries, and procurementTake a practical, hands-on approach and be willing to support the smooth running of the centre as requiredAssist with the organisation and administration of seasonal projects, for example Christmas programmes and eventsThe Successful Candidate Will Be Able to DemonstratePrevious experience in a similar administrative roleEducation to NVQ Level 2 and 5 GCSEs (Grades A-C) or equivalent experienceStrong organisational skills with good attention to detailA flexible and proactive approach to workA friendly, approachable manner and the ability to work collaborativelyThe ability and willingness to work within, support, and promote the Christian ethos and values of The Salvation Army MissionVisits to the centre for interested candidates are welcomed.
