Bradford Theatres are looking to recruit an experienced Box Office Supervisor to join a busy dynamic box office sales team, working on a wide variety of shows and other projects across the four venues under the Bradford Theatres umbrella: Alhambra Theatre, St George’s Hall, The Studio in the city centre and King’s Hall & Winter Garden at Ilkley.
This is an exciting time of growth at Bradford Theatres: St George's Hall recently reopened after a £9.8m transformation; and the Alhambra Theatre, regarded as Yorkshire’s premier receiving venue, enjoys visits in 2022 by major West End shows including Disney’s The Lion King as well as one of the most popular annual pantomimes in Yorkshire.
With existing experience in a supervisory/managerial role in a sales or arts/leisure environment, this is an excellent opportunity for you to continue a career in a box office sales environment. You’ll be working with large scale visiting production companies such as Disney, National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Cameron Mackintosh Ltd, Northern Ballet, Matthew Bourne's New Adventures and The Dance Consortium. There is also a wide variety of medium and small scale shows which visit the venues, including the best in music, top stand-up comedians and one of the UK’s longest running Orchestral Seasons, with the Hallé as resident orchestra.
Reporting to the Box Office Manager, you will be helping to supervise the efficient and effective operation of a large team of permanent and casual sales staffusing all sales channels; with particular emphasis on overseeing the performance & development of staff, supporting and delivering training. You will assist with the effective use of the Ticketing & Customer Relationship Management System (Spektrix) and be required to monitor and review call data, adjusting staffing levels accordingly to meet the needs of the service. You will be required to maintain excellent standards of customer service to enhance the reputation of Bradford Theatres; demonstrate the ability to work calmly in a busy sales environment to meet deadlines; and effectively supervise multiple activities with competing priorities.
