The position offers a competitive salary range of £82.14 - £115 per day, depending on qualifications and experience. As a SEND Support Worker, you will work closely with the teaching staff and other support professionals to ensure that students with SEND receive the necessary support and accommodations to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND, tailoring your approach to meet their individual needs and learning styles
- Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement personalised learning plans and strategies for each student
- Assisting students with daily tasks, such as organisation, note-taking, and communication, to help them develop essential life skills and independence
- Monitoring and recording student progress, maintaining accurate records, and communicating regularly with parents, teachers, and other support staff
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment that promotes the emotional, social, and academic well-being of all students
To be considered for this rewarding role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Education, Special Needs, or a related field (e.g. , NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent)
- Proven experience working with children or young people with SEND, preferably in an educational setting
- A deep understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEND and a commitment to helping them overcome barriers to learning
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with students who have diverse needs and abilities
- Proficiency in using technology to support learning, such as assistive devices and educational software
